Google is proud to honor Anita's memory and support women in technology with the 2010 Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship. Google hopes to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders in the field.

Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients will each receive a $10,000 award for the 2010-2011 academic year.

The purpose of the grant is to support the education of women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in their home countries.  Previous grant recipients studied agriculture, architecture, urban planning, civil engineering, education, forestry, journalism, nursing, nutrition, pediatrics, public administration, public health, social sciences, and social work.

Simon's Rock has been a leader in the early college movement for over 40 years and continues to distinguish itself as the only residential college in the United States specifically designed to provide bright, motivated students with the opportunity to begin college immediately after the tenth or eleventh grade.

The Acceleration to Excellence Program undergraduate scholarships are merit awards that cover up to the full cost of tuition for students who apply to Simon’s Rock during the tenth or eleventh grade and who have outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.  The AEP deadline is February 1 each year.

The Francis and Peggy Cahn Fund for Argentina will support Argentinean students studying at the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in the Engineering, Applied, Physical and Life Sciences; the Harvard School of Public Health, the John F. Kennedy School of Government, or the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Candidates are evaluated on the basis of merit and financial need. It is the donor's wish that recipients have plans to return to Argentina and utilize their education to enable them to contribute to Argentina's social, economic, and scientific progress, and priority consideration will be given to those candidates.

The fellowships are awarded for one academic year. Recipients may apply for renewal for a second year. Candidates must apply to and be accepted by their school of choice at the University independent of this Fellowship application. Admission to the University does not guarantee a Fellowship award.

KODAK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2010

These highly competitive awards are given to students demonstrating superior professional filmmaking production skills and creativity. Colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and participating countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, that offer a degree or diploma program in film, film production, or cinematography may nominate up to two students each year for consideration.

A Blue Ribbon Jury will evaluate all submitted work and make all final selections. The jury will consist of one individual from Kodak and one from the University Film & Video Association (UFVA), plus a representative from the filmmaking industry. Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, creative and technical ability, communications ability, and range of filmmaking experience. Visual Imagery will count 50%, creative and other technical skills 25%, and the other criteria 25%.

The Center awards approximately 20-25 residential fellowships annually to individuals with outstanding project proposals in a broad range of the social sciences and humanities on national and/or international issues. Topics and scholarship should relate to key public policy challenges or provide the historical and/or cultural framework to illuminate policy issues of contemporary importance.

The Yale World Fellows Program aims to build a global network of emerging leaders from around the world and broaden the international dialogue at Yale. Each year the Program will identify and bring to New Haven 12-18 early mid-career professionals from a range of fields and disciplines, including government, business, non-governmental organizations, religion, academia, the media, and arts.

Kenyon College is seeking applications for the Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Kenyon College. Intended to complement the College's Yarbrough Dissertation Fellowship program, the post-doctoral program creates a one-year teaching fellowship in the humanities or humanistic social sciences for holders of PhD's who come from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds.

The program seeks to attract recent recipients of doctoral degrees whose research focus is in international fields of study, including comparative or cross-cultural scholarship. The fellowship program places its greater emphasis on the Fellow's teaching while encouraging mentorship of junior faculty, like the dissertation fellows, as well as allowing time for research activities.

The Program in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy (STEP) at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs announces its 2010-2011 Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. STEP will award one-year research positions (with the possibility of renewal for a second year) to eligible, talented researchers. These awards are designed to promote basic policy-relevant research under the supervision of one or more STEP faculty members.

International Assistantship awards, in the form of tuition reductions,
valued at $3,000 per academic year are available for international students. Awards are based on need and merit and may be renewed each year provided the student meets established criteria. Students who receive assistantships are required to make significant contributions in the area of international education.

Prospective international students who are interested in attending East
Tennessee State University during the Fall 2010 term now have until June 24th to apply for the International Students Academic Merit Scholarship. The scholarship is open to new international students at the undergraduate and graduate levels and covers 50% of the total of in and out-of-state tuition. The reward can be used for up to eight semesters for undergraduate recipients, five semesters for recipients seeking a master's degree, and eight semesters for doctoral students.

The University of Akron College of Business Administration offers numerous scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students, including full tuition scholarships. A high percentage of Fulbright applicants are admitted and receive these scholarships, valued up to $40,000/year.
